The highly advanced drum sanders which we’ve been seeing have compared to all the rest, and continue to be some of the finest. Not fit for the beginners in mind, SHOP FOX drum sanders are more adapted for industrial, production shops.
The SHOP FOX W1772 Drum Sander is one of our favorites as it’s something to consider for those bigger sanding jobs. Product Description
The SHOP FOX W1772 drum sander sports a 10-HP drum motor and a ¼ HP conveyor motor. The specs of the W1772 make it better suited for sanding large panels and boards, and can do so with a minimal amount of effort. It features an adjustable feed speed varying from 6 to 18 FPM. With dual 6” sanding drums can handle boards with a thickness of 4 inches and 36 ½ inches wide.
Many other features which are seen on most SHOP FOX drum sanders which include a hinged hood, four 4” dust ports, pedestal mounted controls, and an emergency stop bar which will allow the sander to cease instantly. The state of the art computerized drums and control panel with AMP load meter are features which are becoming SHOP FOX’s standards which are also seen in the W1772.

To say that the W1772 isn’t feature rich would be a true understatement as it’s a great representation of what SHOP FOX is all about. At first sight, it’s hard to not notice the superior structure and high quality design elements that details quality and durability in one. The control panel with the amplifier load meter is in a great location and allows for responsive, and instant changes.
The 4 port dust collection is another great aspect that is one of the best on the market. All SHOP FOX’s drum sanders do a great job minimizing airborne dust, and the W1772 is one of the best out there. Attached to a shop vac, you will see amazing results.
