Product Description
The Central Machinery Oscillating Spindle Sander features a 14” platform made of heavy-duty cast iron. This makes it pretty durable and able to withstand weight and pressure, and with a dual action sanding spindle it’s definitely needed. The oscillating spindle oscillates up and down as well as a circular motion helping you get a clean, desirable look.
The dual action spindle moves at a speed of 1725 RPM’s and oscillates at 30 OPM with a 5/8” spindle. This helps remove stock faster while minimizing “burning” which can be seen with sanding. It also features a dust collection port for attachment of a hose to a Shop Vac system.

Pros
The learning curve is minimal at best as beginners such from high schoolers taking woodshop to weekend enthusiasts can be up and sanding in no time at all. Out of the box, it’s an easy set-up as it comes complete with 80 grit sanding sleeves, but you’ll have to buy finer sleeves such as 150-grit for fine sanding.

Cons
There is a slew of spindle sanders which share many similarities aside from the color, and this Central Machinery Oscillating Spindle Sander is one of them. There’s definitely a price disparity as you can find similar spindle sanders for cheaper and more expensive and all with similar specs and features. It does come with a 14” table, but some say that it’s too small and you’ll want to build a bigger table if sanding wood over 12”.
